Water Pressure Tank Repair Symptoms

Water Tank Repair and Replacement

Water pressure tanks can be a source of water well problems when you notice surging water pressure, water pump short-cycling, loss of water pressure, water cycles hot and cold for no reason, water pump constantly running, or pressure tank leaking. When these problems occur, the solution can be a water pressure tank repair or, more likely, a water pressure tank replacement.

Surging Water Pressure

Surging water pressure is usually caused by well pump short-cycling. Short-cycling is where the water well pump is turning on and off rapidly in a very short amount of time, which can lead to water well pump burn-out. Short-cycling has the following symptoms: The pressure of the water from faucet or hose will slowly decrease over a short period of time until the water well pump turns on, then the pressure will suddenly increase. This happens over and over in a short amount of time. Contact A-Plus Water Services immediately right away if you recognize these symptoms.

A leaking pressure tank is one of the most common well water problems but can be deceptive to diagnose. The leak may appear as a just a pinhole on the outside of the tank, while the inside of the tank may be extensively corroded. Water tank repair is usually a very temporary solution and can cost you a burned out water wall pump.

Water Tank Repair and Replacement

Another common problem is a waterlogged pressure tank. This can be caused by a number of things, but the result is always a failed bladder and no air pressure. A waterlogged pressure tank will need to be replaced, as it usually can’t be repaired.
